Holsters for the Sig Sauer P250 Pistol

By Richard on February 8, 2008 28 Comments

There has been a lot of interest in the new Sig Sauer P250 pistol. One of the only problems with this pistol is that there are few holsters available for it. While this will change in the coming months and years, what’s a person to do if they have Sig Sauer P250 holsteralready bought a P250 and need to carry it today?

There are a few options available to the Sig P250 owner. First, is the purchase and use of a “generic” holster. This includes fanny packs and non-specific nylon holsters like some of those made by Uncle Mikes. For a lot of people, these may not be good choices.

Blackhawk Serpa holster for Sig Sauer P250 pistol gunIn polymer holsters, there are two choices available: the Blackhawk CQC Serpa Holster and the Sig Sauer branded “Serpa-like” holster. Both holsters are strong-side hip carry, outside the waistband holsters. Both holsters are open top with a retention button on the side of the holster where the trigger finger naturally lands when the shooter obtains his or her grip to draw. The Blackhawk comes in matte black or carbon fiber finishes ($48.99 and $58.99 respectively.) The Sig holster comes in matte black and retails for $44.95.

Kramer leather holster scabbard for Sig Sauer P250In leather, I have only found one company that is making holsters for the Sig P250: Kramer Handgun Leather. Kramer Handgun Leather has been producing finely made holsters for law enforcement and armed citizens since the early ’80s. Kramer recently obtained the castings needed for the P250 to begin producing their holsters for the new Sig.

Kramer IWB holster for Sig Sauer P250In an e-mail, Will Kramer said that most of the Kramer line of holsters are available for the Sig P250. The obvious exceptions are the rigs designed for small guns such as the pocket and ankle holsters. This means you have a wide range of holsters now available including inside the waistband and traditional leather scabbards. Prices depend on the model holster and if any special detail work is requested. The quality is high, so the prices are very fair.

CrossBreed Holster for Sig Sauer P250 quick clipAnother option is one of the fine holsters from CrossBreed Holsters. CrossBreed Holsters, among other things, makes several different inside the waistband holsters (IWB) that blend polymer and leather to create a very secure, yet comfortable, holster.

Mark Craighead, the owner of CrossBreed Holsters, said that they are able to produce holsters for the Sig P250 pistol immediately. Prices range from $52.50 to $65.50, and delivery is normally in about 2-3 weeks.

My wife and I both have Sig P250s for CC. I worked with a gun leather / holster store and found that the Galco F719WC after a little breaking in works perfectly. The holster has another number on it CON400B perhaps a serial number.

Unfortunately holster options are poor as of right now. Sig had stated that Blackhawk’s serpa holster would fit but it doesn’t. I spoke with Blackhawk in April and they told me that they do not have a holster that will fit but that they are in the process of making their full line to fit the P250. Blackhawk stated the holsters would be available in August sometime. Safariland shows they have some holsters for it. Sig Sauer is still telling customers that Balckhawk has a holster but they do not. As for any light bearing holsters, I have not come across any compnay making one for the P250.

Does anyone know what holsters are available for the Sig P250 for left handed shooters? I am interested in one for range target shooting and would prefer polymer or leather. Thanks!

I have a sig p250 and a Blackhawk CQC Serpa that was labeled as 228/229/250. I purchased it off of an ebay store about a year ago so you talked to the wrong person at blackhawk. Also, Galco 250 series holsters that were originally for the 229 that have no thumb break will fit. Their website has a fit for them.

Uncle Mikes sells a holster that fits up to 4″ barrels. I just got the P250 for Duty and the holster fits it well. Not the greatest but it works ok.

Okay…so I see a lot of good info here. I am after a P250 Compact Holster that will accommodate a SureFire X300. This is for duty carry. Basically, I lean towards Safariland, but they are making nothing. Reading above, it seems that the 228/229 holsters might be an option for the P250, and they do make holster that will fit a 228/229 with an X300 attached. Can anyone confirm that this would be an option?

Galco makes a L919WCD snap belt holster for a P250. It’s availabe on the NRA web site store. Out of the box it is stiff and tight, which is not good for a snap holster or if you want to draw the pistol with one hand. Rub in a light layer of neatsfoot oil, then soak the holster in warm water for 15 minutes. Dry it well with a towel. Now your P250 will fit pretty well and draw easily. Work the pistol in an out many times, then allow the holster to air dry with the P250 in place. After drying, rub in another thin film of neatsfoot oil.

Hey everyone, I just purchased a sig p250 and I need a stage two security for my holster because of my department. Would the polymer holsters work for this?

      Hi Conner,

I’d strongly recommend the BLACKHAWK! Serpa duty holster (not the concealed carry version) for duty use. Our department has gone to them, plus I have trained with the guys at BLACKHAWK! on their use. It is a good quality holster.

If you have not already, check out BlueSheepdog.com, a police training site, for more officer safety and training information.

      Good luck and stay safe!

I have a P250 Full Size with a laser/light combo attachment on the accessory rail and I have yet to find a holster that fits. I’m looking for both duty and concealment (right handed) options so if anyone has any suggestions/options I’d be happy to hear them!

    – thank you in advance for the assistance.
