Reporter Ignorance: One of Many Reasons Newspaper Circulation is Down

By Richard on October 14, 2008 No Comments

Newspapers have been laying off staff for years now.  Even when the economy was booming, newsrooms were shrinking.  Editors and publishers have blamed their losses on many things, but never on themselves.

Bad Newspaper ReportingThe fact is newspapers have been producing an inferior product.

Between shoddy journalism and agenda driven stories, most people no longer subscribe to papers.  But, the core of reporters blindly drive on, promoting their agendas, facts be damned!

The most recent example of poor reporting comes to us from the Orlando Sentinel.  In the article titled “Guns Are Everywhere,” the author attempts to connect the expiration of the Clinton gun ban with a rise in illegal gun seizures.

Frankly, the author’s lack objectivity and understanding of firearms makes my head hurt.  I encourage anyone who feels the same way, to drop the editor a note.
