I was told they cannot install a thumb safety on the older models. I am not too happy about it but I guess there is nothing you can do if you already purchased one. Confirmed with S&W. Starting looking for one in the area. Dealers did not know anything about it. Or they did not let on because they did not have any. Smith rep was at local shop this weekend.
