Hello Richard,
Was glad to find this review forum. I didn't know anyone who owned an LCR before I purchased and many of the practical reviews here helped me choose the LCR. The good old days keep getting a little better with a little technology. The LCR, might not be for everyone, nothing is, but it is one of the best carry revolvers available.

Braxton,

Thanks for taking the time to post your experiences with the LCR. I'd love to see Ruger etch that into the side of the barrel!

Recently purchased two. One each for my wife and I as back up carry. Very impressed with the LCR. Works perfect for both my wife and I. Any snub nose revolver is not a recreational plinker anyway, so a little extra recoil or bounce on a light weight is of little or no consequence. Still has a very reasonable recovery to target after each shot. As far as the "rattle" concerns, I find a little amusing. Most revolvers Ruger or any other, when loaded, produce more rattle from the slight ammunition movement in the cylinder hitting the back plate. Unless someone is trying to carry an unloaded revolver covertly, then the rattle shouldn't bother them. Load any clean double action revolver where the rounds can move in the cylinder and you will have sound in motion. Perhaps Ruger needs to put on the instructions... "When in stealth mode, move slowly so not to shake handgun". :-)

I have to say as a carry weapon, it fits the bill for me .The bottom line for me was small, lightweight, practical , no special gadgets, smooth operation , pull and fire and hit .That is what the LCR does. You dont take a gun like this to a range and fire hundreds of rounds through it for a bench shooter , although one can .I have S&W and others that do that well but they are not light weight and bulky and very heavy to carry . Honestly, its no fun to be lugging around a weapon like this for concealed carry .
But this revolver fits the bill for my needs.Lightweight and confortable, easy to shoot and fire and hit mass center with the 38 special . I bought the revolver strickly for the one purpose of concealed carry . If you dont like your firearm because its too heavy, too big or to bulky and uncomfortable to wear then you have a problem, those are the ones that soon turn into a nightstand/home guns/range gun. I did try the laser model and honestly the grip and the feeling of it made me not like it at all so i opted for the basic LCR 38 special+p with the hogue grip with finger grooves .Before you buy one, handle all three LCR models because i noticed for my needs that if it doesnt fit my hands and the grip isint good, its normally a maistake to purchase it .For night shooting, Get the XS Front sight for your Rugur LCR from them , be sure you get it pre dilled from them to make install faster,
Standard Dot Tritium Sight
Price: $65
Part Number: RP-0008N-4 (remember pre Drilled)

This way you can use it for night duty as well .

Cert 33--you are so clueless to modern manufacturing techniques. If Rugers are so poor why is the Redhawk and the Blackhawk considered stronger and superior to S&W? Cert 33 don't let your ignorance and third-hand misinformation try to prove your point--do some "real" research before your give us your opinion.

I originally purchased the LCR as a backup. I now use the 380 LCP as my backup. The LCR is my wife's primary defense weapon. Every women should have a revolver or automatic. I plan to sell the charter Arms undercover 38 (had for about 20 years) and get my wife a CZ75 sp01 9mm for the bedroom. She keeps the LCP in the Honda all the time. You think that would be a good choice. That way I can justify buying the Beretta 92 9mm. All because of the LCR.

My wife bought me a magazine with the LCR article in it. After reading the article I had to have the LCR. It is truly a beautiful pistol. My wife now has the LCR. Buying the LCR caused me to purchase 2 yes 2 LCPs (one is engraved - wife's) and I bought the fabulous Smith and Wesson M&P 357 sig. with the 40 cal. barrell and 3 16 round mags,,,,all because of the LCR. Can anyone beat that one. P.S. I didn't notice the famous rattle until I read hear about it.

Just bought one for my wife a couple of days ago and will be picking it up tomorrow. (Hey, this is Illinois. What can I say?)

Anyway, I was surprised at how light the LCR was and I'm eager to get it to the range. My wife really liked the feel of it. We'll see.
