USCCA: U.S. Concealed Carry Association

By Richard on April 18, 2009 7 Comments

The U.S. Concealed Carry Association is an organization founded by Tim Schmidt to address the unique needs and concerns of law abiding U.S. citizens exercising their rights to carry a firearm for self defense.

The USCCA professes to be “the ultimate resource for the law-abiding, armed citizen.” With a library of articles on the website, an active member forum, a full color magazine, a weekly e-mail newsletter, and a store featuring training videos and more, the USCCA certainly goes a long way to back up that claim.

Part of your membership includes “Concealed Carry Magazine.” Concealed Carry Magazine is a full color, glossy magazine published by USCCA eight times each year. The magazine features product reviews, profiles of regular people who carry a concealed firearm, and plenty of practical training information. Unlike some of the newsstand gun magazines, the product reviews are honest, you can really relate to the people interviewed, and the tactics and training relate to the average citizen carrying a gun for self defense (not some tacti-cool SWAT tactics).

The website features an active member forum, which can be quite lively at times. Also on the site are member classified ads, informative articles, and a complete archive of all of the past Concealed Carry Magazine issues in PDF files.

The e-mail newsletter is also informative combining editorial pieces, product reviews, brief training tips, and other interesting information.  The e-mail newsletter is free, and you do not even have to be a member to receive it.

USCCA is a great organization for the armed citizen. I am a member and wholeheartedly recommend membership.

Member here also, the only part I don’t like is the annoying emails soliciting extra books, videos, etc…

    Hi Randy,

I think most of the e-mails I get from them are newsletter-type e-mails. Yes, they have ads, but a lot of good information, too. I guess it is a trade-off.

I had a subscription. I purchased info called “HOME DEFENSE” with a money back guarantee from one of Tims suggestions(the occasional emails), I Found the info weak and uninformative, ,etc.. Contacted HOME DEFENSE co. thru contact info both phone and email. Haven’t received a response from them and it’s been apx. 30 days. Canceled sub. to “USCCA”, also informed them why. Got refund from “USCCA” but no response about my problem. I can’t say that I’m going to miss out on much that I won’t get from “GUN TESTS “mag.

      Bruce,

Thanks for posting about your problems with USCCA. My experience with them has been positive, but I can imagine how disappointed you must feel. At least they refunded your money.

I am a current member of USCCA and have subscribed to YouArePrepared.com.
However, I cannot seem to be able to sign onto either organization.
I need to know what to do. How can I reset my sign-on and password. I NEED to download information.

      Hi Ken,

If you go to their site, http://www.usconcealedcarry.com/ , try contacting their customer service section. They list live chat and a toll free phone number for assistance. Hope this helps!
