Glock Adjustable Grip Pistols: Still Just a Rumor
By[Update 12/18/2009: Gen 4 Glock photo is here.]
The announcement of the adjustable grip Glock pistols yesterday by GT Distributers is still unconfirmed.
I spoke with an unnamed Glock employee in Smyrna, GA. The woman said that Glock was “absolutely not” coming out with any type of adjustable grip pistol…ever. The woman stated that Glock has no intention of ever producing such a gun.
When I called GT Distributers to find out more on their source of information, they were very polite but said the person I needed to speak is unfortunately out of the office until June 22.
I am curious about Glock’s reaction to this rumor about adjustable grip pistols. Based on the e-mails I get, and visiting various gun forums, it would appear that there is more than just casual interest in such a feature in their guns. Yet, Glock has not made efforts to meet this consumer demand. As a consequence, other companies have stepped in with polymer guns to fill this need.
Smith and Wesson has done very well with the M&P, and have begun to take back portions of the police market from Glock.
Of course, Glock could be bringing out an adjustable grip pisol, but just didn’t want to let the information out until they are ready to go. I’ll let you know when I find out more.
*** UPDATE ***
