Hi John,

It is an IWB-style holster, and as such uses friction retention only.

Steve,

My Summer Comfort did not damage the finish on my Glock at all. And that was with years of carry in this holster. I don't have a USP, but I suspect that the finish on the HK would be fine.

Thinking about getting one of these for my HK USP Compact 9mm, looking at the black "Limited Edition" model. Not sure whats "Limited" about it but it's black so hey.

Anyway the inside seems to be rough leather. How's the finish hold up to that?

Yeah, this thing has been extremely durable and the finish is still in great condition. Other than the past couple of months when I have been testing a few other holsters, I have worn this holster almost every day since the mid 90's. I've been impressed by it.

Making them in only black makes a lot of sense to me. Most of the belts out there are black anymore, so the straps don't contrast on the outside against them. In my locale, if it's not a military use holster, only black sells. Your holster sure shows a lot less wear than my two Concealables!
