My concern with a sign like this would be someone seeing that sign, assuming that I have guns and waiting until I'm gone to break in and get them. I'd personally rather surprise them. I like the sign a lot though. It reminds me of my father who had a signs up that said: "Never Mind the Dog, Beware of Owner" and "Property Protected by Smith & Wesson".

I like the sign! A clear warning against home invasion. Great deterrent to crime as the perpetrator most likely will not live to repeat the offense!

Dok Holliday the problem with shooting for body mass is that you end up with a situation like we have in Texas. You end up with the butt head still alive. Now we have to keep that sucker alive. he will be a drain on the countries resources for the rest of his no good for nothing life. My theory is "Never point a gun at someone unless you intend to kill them". Otherwise they wil kill you.

I respect the effect of Missouri's castle law. If someone messes with a person or his property there is no requirement on the part of the victim to flee. One may drop the perp dead in his tracks without little prospects of legal consequences.

Mich posted "December 3rd, 2009 at 6:01 pm
The only problem I have with the poster is that there are not 2 in the head."
I learned in Marine Force Recon ( I Was a 'SARC') Specialized Amphibious Recon Corpsman
-that- IF you miss the head by only a 1/4 inch, You miss and he kills YOU! If you aim at the center of the body and miss the heart by 1/4 inch, you STILL blow his guts out and you are alive, he is dead....Isnt THAT the name of the game??? OOORAH! Semper Fi

Thanks Bert, there aren't many states with more stringent gun laws than Illinois.
This isn't a gun law issue though and Harvey Birdman has a small point in there somewhere.
In the instance where someone is injured,
I know of no precedent where a "Warning sign" shows intent, or no one would ever put a warning label on anything. This does not mean one does not exist for actually hurting someone(these are 2 totally different things), the best thing to do in everyone's case is to check your local laws and statutes there are some weird ones out there. Here is just 1 of many free sites that you could use to do some quick research.

As long as the intruder/ trespasser can not press charges for any type of assault,( deceased ) then all the DA's can do is refer to a grand jury. In Texas it does not go that far, Castle Doctrine.

Leo, Congratulations, a Lawyer and "legal" gun owner in the Chicago area, one of the toughest gun control areas in the US outside of California, ESP S.F area.
