Don't expect them to last very long if you don't touch it up now and then. The third year done it in however. The screw that stops the blade from opening too far fell out. Considering the holes that the screws are in are very small, it is hard to find a replacement. Mine are clearly different. I have seen poor quality, S&W branded knives in the past, but the ExtremeOps I reviewed here is actually a very good knife. I'm still using it daily, on-duty, and no problems. And at the price, I'm not worried if something does happen to it. Frankly, at this price point, the S&W ExtremeOps is an excellent knife. As with anything, YMMV. Gerber definitely makes good stuff also (own a few myself). By the way, you've got a nice site. Everyone should check it out. Screws that won't stay in, (had to be epoxied) doesn't keep a very good edge, and the clip snapped in half. That is my experience.
