After buying this knife three years ago, I must say that this knife is definitely a value buy. I am very hard on knives, so when I bought a $12 one, I was sure it would last a week. As stated above however, the first flaw that came with the knife was loose screws. I had two screws fall out after the second year. The blade lost its edge fairly quickly, but it is all how you handle your knife. Don't expect them to last very long if you don't touch it up now and then. The third year done it in however. The screw that stops the blade from opening too far fell out. Considering the holes that the screws are in are very small, it is hard to find a replacement. As a overall rating for this knife:

(Out of 5)
Value: 5
Quality: 4
Construction: 3
Belt Clip: 5

When it comes down to it, for $12 you cannot beat the Smith and Wesson Extreme Ops CK5TBS.

Kevlar,

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your experiences. Mine are clearly different. I have seen poor quality, S&W branded knives in the past, but the ExtremeOps I reviewed here is actually a very good knife. I'm still using it daily, on-duty, and no problems. And at the price, I'm not worried if something does happen to it. Frankly, at this price point, the S&W ExtremeOps is an excellent knife. As with anything, YMMV.

Gerber definitely makes good stuff also (own a few myself).

By the way, you've got a nice site. Everyone should check it out. Thanks again for stopping by and posting your experiences,

I hate to argue, but the S&W knives are junk. Screws that won't stay in, (had to be epoxied) doesn't keep a very good edge, and the clip snapped in half. That is my experience. Spend another $10 and get a gerber. 0 problems in the 3 years since I got it.

Just placed an order on Amazon.com. This is a great buy and cannot go wrong for under $11. Plus, it was a great excuse to buy more products so I can get the free shipping!
