Ruger LCR in .357 Magnum

By Richard on May 13, 2010 8 Comments

ruger_lcr_357aRuger just announced the LCR will now be chambered in .357 Magnum.  The .357 LCR has been speculated about ever since the LCR was introduced at the 2009 SHOT Show, and now it is a reality.

Just one day ahead of the NRA Annual Meeting, the lightweight .357 Magnum from Ruger will likely be a hit.

The new Ruger LCR is a five shot revolver with a 1.88″ barrel and weighs in at a mere 17.1 ounces (unloaded.)  Like the original LCR, the .357 Magnum version features Hogue Tamer grips on a polymer frame with a wide notch rear sight and a pinned front sight.

The barrel is blackened 400-series stainless steel.  The official model number is 5450 if you would like to order one from your local dealer.  Suggested retail is $575.

I will always have a special place in my heart for the .357 mag. I’ll make sure there is room in the vault for this one.

Don’t know about firing 357′s,but the extra 4 oz.weight combined with the excellent LCR trigger might make this the best 38+P around!

Bought one–shot it–will keep it. What can I say about the .357–WOW! Not something I will shoot everyday, but it’s a very cool option in a snub. The extra weight (4 ozs.) tames the +P’s, just as easy to pocket carry as the original LCR. My old ancient old-school S&W 649 (not the current model in .357) weighed in at 21 ozs. and I thought that was light for pocket carry–or as a hideout. I believe Ruger will sell more of these than the allum. version–The extra weight is nice–the design and trigger pull is excellent.

I own a new LCR 357. WOW! the 158gn 357s cause the gun to punish my trigger finger in recoil. Not a lot of fun but potent. +P are perect and I could shoot them all day. 38….what shot? Ilove 357s in my 1873 hombre 357. I could shoot it until bankrupt buying ammo.
