Two new CZ P-07 Duty pistols are on the way for 2012: one with an OD green frame, the second set up for a suppressor.
The OD green frame pistol maintains the same features and function of the original black P-07 duty, albeit with a $6 surcharge. MSRP on the standard 9mm P-07 is $483. The OD frame runs $489. The OD framed pistols are only available in 9mm. I expect if demand was high enough CZ would be happy to make them in .40 S&W also.
The P-07 set up for suppression features a threaded barrel and elevated sights. I’ve seen a number of pistols rolling onto the market with threaded barrels recently, but I can’t think of any right off that have elevated sights. According to CZ, the sights fully clear any suppressor with a 1″ diameter. With larger cans, CZ states the sights still “…provide a good sight picture…”
The barrel is threaded (1/2 x 28) to accept most U.S. manufactured suppressors. The barrel length is 4.5″ as compared to the standard 3.8″ found on the other P-07 Duty pistols. MSRP on this model is $528.
At the 2010 SHOT Show, CZ was showing a prototype of the P-07 unofficially known as the “Tactical” model. The gun had a tan colored frame, fiber optic sights and was to be outfitted with a threaded barrel. CZ staff told me that the pistols would be chambered in 9mm and the sights would be elevated to account for an attached suppressor.
At that time, CZ was hoping to get a few into limited production in late-2010 with wider distribution in 2011. It looks like they dumped the tan for OD and split the gun into two options: color or suppression. I like the green, and I thought the tan was very attractive.
Both of the new P-07 Duty pistols are set for delivery in April 2012. I expect we will see these pistols on display at the 2012 SHOT Show.
