Israel will be deploying more TAVOR rifles for field use. According to an article published in The Times of Israel, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) decided to accelerate plans to deploy the TAVOR rifle to reserve troops.
The TAVOR rifle has been widely deployed throughout the active duty IDF troops, but reservists continued to carry US-made M16 rifles. After the recent call-up of reservists to combat terrorists in the Gaza region, the IDF decided to get TAVORs in the hands of reservists sooner rather than later.
Israel Weapons Industries (IWI) recently announced the formation of a US-based subsidiary company that will sell civilian legal TAVOR rifles in the United States. So, in addition to the IDF reservists, many US citizens will also be able to put their hands on this bullpup rifle.
