New SIG M400 Rifles

SIG M400 predator

SIG Sauer is now showing two new M400 rifles on their website: the Predator and the Muddy Girl.  The guns address two distinctly different markets for the AR-15 rifle market.

The new SIG M400 Predator rifle is designed for long range precision: for either hunting or competition.  Chambered for the 5.56 NATO, the rifle uses a 18″ barrel made of 416 stainless steel.  The barrel has a 1:8″ twist rate.

M400 Predator Details

  • aluminum Hogue free float, tube-style handguard
  • threaded and capped barrel
  • ambidextrous magazine release
  • match trigger
  • Magpul MOE fixed stock
  • SIG pistol grip
  • weight: 6 pounds, 1 ounce
  • barrel length:  18″
  • overall length:  36.25″
  • item # RM400-H18SS-PRED

A single five-round magazine ships with the M400 Predator.  The rifle carries a suggested retail price of $1,384.

SIG M400 Muddy Girl

The M400 Muddy Girl is more than just a pink and black camo pattern on the furniture.  It uses Magpul MOE furniture (pistol grip, handguard and stock) like the M400 Enhanced, but it has a folding front sight instead of a standard A2-style front sight.

Chambered in 5.56 NATO, the rifle has a 16″ chrome-lined barrel barrel with a 1:7″ twist.  An A2-style flash suppressor is standard.  The rifle comes with a single 30-round Magpul PMAG.  MSRP is $1,394 and it carries a SIG item # of RM400-16B-ECP-MG.

The Muddy Girl camo pattern from Moon Shine Attitude Attire has become popular and several other manufacturers are using the same pattern on their guns.  For example, I previously showed the ISSC M22 pistols are now available in Muddy Girl and Savage makes an Axis XP Youth rifle with the same pattern.

Piston or impingement? If the later both are a bit pricey, even though it is a Sig. There are a LOT of quality AR makers putting out great rifles for less.

Good point. I would guess impingement because a piston gun for that price would be cheap; _especially_ for SIG.
