July 8 Gun News

Davidsons Beretta Neos purple

Here is some of today’s gun news…

Purple Neos

Davidson’s announced they are now shipping an exclusive purple and black Beretta U22 Neos pistol.  The new guns use purple inserts in the grip and an anodized purple finish on the gun’s top rail.

I understand that purple is not for everyone, but expanding the firearms color palette is a great way to give people a more personalized choice in arms.  Sure, Henry Ford sold a lot of black Model T cars, but today you can get a Mustang in eight colors other than black from the factory.  Consumers like options, and not every gun owner wants black and/or stainless.

Maximus Arms Explains the 1911 Gladiator

Maximus Arms released a video (below and on YouTube) explaining the features of the Gladiator 1911 pistol, and how the gun is different from the existing 1911 handguns on the market.

HSM .257 Weatherby Magnum Loads

Hunting Shack Munitions (HSM) announced they are now selling a new .257 Weatherby Magnum load.  The ammo uses a 115 grain Berger VLD bullet that makes for more than 3,300 fps from a 24″ rifle barrel (not a test barrel.)  According to the company, the bullet is designed to penetrate approximately 2-4″ and then fragment to anchor the animal.

HSM ammo

HSM states the primers and powder are temperature insensitive and provide consistent ignition and burn rates from -30° F to 130° F.  According to the company, the brass cases are suitable for multiple reloads.
