Gear Scout is reporting on new Magpul PMAG 30 M3 magazines. The magazines, along with other new items, were found in a leaked copy of the Magpul 2012 catalog. I expect we will see these at the SHOT Show.
Tip o’ the fedora to The Firearm Blog.

We have zombie guns and zombie ammo. I guess one of the few things missing was the zombie gun cleaning kit. Fortunately, Otis has stepped in to fill this gaping hole in our preparations for the inevitable zombie hoards.
From Otis:
Things have gone green at Otis Technology with the launch of their new Zombie Gun Cleaning System just in time for the 2012 SHOT Show.
If thoughts of Zombies keep you up at night, Otis Technology, the leading manufacturer of gun cleaning systems and accessories, has an apocalyptic survival item to add to your Zombie collection. Serious Zombie hunters and enthusiasts absolutely must keep their Zombie firearms clean and properly maintained to be ready for the next attack.
Adventure Medical Kits is now making a portable shelter that can easily fit into the bug-out bag or day-hike pack. The SOL Escape Bivvy is a bright orange, breathable bag that acts as an emergency shelter for one adult. The Escape Bivvy can keep you dry and warm should you get lost or injured in the back country, and it weighs less than 10 ounces.
The orange is great for being spotted for rescue, but not so good for being spotted by “the man” or zombies. MSRP is $50. The value is priceless should you ever need it.
Gun Storage Solutions is making an “over-under” handgun storage solution for your safe. Many people have seen the handgun hangers the company has offered in the past. This device allows the storage of handguns above and below a shelf using a single hanger.
Frankly, if you have a lot of handguns to store, this may be a very practical solution for you. MSRP is $19.95, which buys you two of the hangers (for a total of four guns).
The metal is powder coated and they come with vinyl caps to protect the ends of the metal and gun.
Rade Technology Corporation will be showing the new Speed Shot digital counter at the 2012 SHOT Show.

More zombie goodness for the 2012 SHOT Show from Birchwood Casey…
Practice for the zombie apocalypse is now more fun than ever with the new splattering Darkotic® Insectoid targets from Birchwood Casey®.
Birchwood Casey Darkotic Targets have proven to be popular with the zombie shooting crowd. The Darkotic Insectoid targets expand the line to include even more nasty creatures that are fun to shoot.
Four new “undead” insects are available. The Blood Drive™ Mosquito, Crawl Space™ Spider, Buzz Kill™ Fly and the House Guest™ Cockroach.
Ruger is now making polymer magazines for the Gunsite scout rifle. One of the complaints about the metal magazines was the price: $70 for the 10 round mag. I like the Gunsite scout rifle, but at $70/mag it is a non-starter for me.
Fortunately, Ruger wasn’t blind to the issue. To resolve the cost problem, Ruger is now manufacturing polymer magazines of three, five and ten round capacities. While not cheap, the polymer mags are much more reasonable at $39.95 each.
Hoppe’s announced the introduction of “Pillow Packs”, which are individual servings of Elite Gun Cleaner and Elite T3 gun oil for use in the field. The idea is to have an easy to carry way to clean and protect your firearm when you are away from the comforts of your workbench at home.
For those of you with kids, Pillow Packs are not Pillow Pets. So, don’t buy these when they ask for those this Christmas.
