New Kel-Tec RFB Accessories

By Richard on October 18, 2011 No Comments

Kel-Tec announced three new accessories for the RFB rifle.  The accessories are a short quad-rail, a front sight riser, a tactical operating handle and a muzzle brake.  The Kel-Tec RFB (Rifle, Forward-ejecting Bullpup) is a .308/7.62 NATO rifle available in target and carbine models.

RFB Short Quad Rail

Quad-rails are exceptionally popular on the AR15 platform guns, so it is not a great leap to think that rails for the RFB might be popular as well.  The quad rail for the RFB is a short system, measuring about three inches in length.  The rails run from the rear of the flash hider to just forward of the gas system adjustment.

The rails will accept any 1913/Picatinny mount accessories and is made from “…hard coat anodized 6061-T6 aluminum.”

MSRP will be about $45 and should be available for order next week on the Kel-Tec website.

Thunder Forward Grip from EMA Tactical

By Richard on September 8, 2010 No Comments

EMA Tactical announced a new line of fore grips for AR-style rifles: the Thunder Forward Grips.

Currently there are two grips in the new EMA line, the full-sized TVG1 and the ‘shorty’ TVG. The shorter TVG allows the shooter to wrap three fingers around it, while providing a lower-profile appearance. The full-size TVG1 allows all four fingers to wrap around the grip, allowing greater control.

Both grips offer a sealed storage compartment, and EMA is rolling out the Thunder Forward Grips in black, tan, and OD green. The grips have a lifetime warranty. MSRP is $14.95 each.

By Richard on August 6, 2010 1 Comments

The Hoppe’s No. 9 air freshener is a reality!  Many will claim it is long overdue, but Hoppe’s is now producing an air freshener scented with the famous smell of their No. 9 bore solvent.

Wait ’til I hang one of these in the wife’s vehicle!

Hat tip to the Shooting Wire for the news.

TAPCO Intrafuse Handguard for the AR-15

By Aaron on July 26, 2010 1 Comments

The TAPCO Intrafuse AR Handguard is a fine alternative to the traditional aluminum quad-rail that many AR-15 owners consider as standard equipment today. The Intrafuse handguard is made of high strength composite material, and has full-length Picatinny rails on the top and bottom with half-length Picatinny rails on both sides.

The bottom and side rails have detachable covers, while the top rail remains open at all times. The covers are made of Santoprene, described as a high strength flexible rubber material, and are designed to be modular to fit the shooter’s desires. The covers can be removed in a matter of seconds, and do not require any tools to do so.

The handguard is designed with numerous ventilation ports to keep the barrel of the rifle from overheating.

Gripwell Review for AR-15

By Richard on June 18, 2010 No Comments

gripwell_06a1The Gripwell is a bolt-on accessory for the AR-15/M-16/M-4 platform that significantly improves the use of the magazine well as a grip, and acts as a funnel for magazines in stress-reloads.

I found the Gripwell to be a useful addition to my Rock River AR-15, and could not find any faults with its performance.  More on all that in a moment.

Gunslick Snap-n-Pull Shotgun Cleaning Kit Review

By Richard on June 17, 2010 No Comments

gunslick_shotgun_01aThe Gunslick Snap-n-Pull barrel cleaning kit is a compact cleaning kit that combines the benefits of a Hoppe’s BoreSnake with the interchangeable parts of a traditional rod-style cleaning kit.

The Snap-n-Pull  system does away with the ‘old-school’ cleaning rods, and uses a flexible cable instead, allowing you to clean from the chamber through the barrel, and out of the muzzle.  Additionally, the cable rolls up nicely, meaning the kit can be stored in a small, soft-sided case.

Another benefit to the Snap-n-Pull system is different brushes and mops can be attached to the same cable.  So instead of having a dozen BoreSnakes, you can have one Gunslick cable that attaches to your different Snap-n-Pull brushes and mops to handle all of your rifle and shotgun calibers.
