Posted by: | Comments
Crimson Trace issued a recall for the LG-432 Lasergrips designed for the Sig Sauer P230 and P232 pistols. Crimson Trace initiated the recall after receiving reports “…that the LG-432 Lasergrips for Sig Sauer P230 and P232 semi-auto pistols may allow the mainspring to detach when the magazine release is depressed without a magazine in place, rendering the firearm inoperable.” Yikes!
Crimson Trace is a very good company, and I have always known them to stand behind their products. If you have a set of LG-432 Lasergrips, please read the following information on the problem and how to receive a replacement set of Lasergrips. Read More→

LaserLyte PL-1 Laser Sight for Ruger LCP
Posted by: | Comments
LaserLyte has introduced a new red laser sighting system for the popular Ruger LCP. The LaserLyte PL-1 is a frame mounted laser sight that attaches to the front of the LCP trigger guard.
The Ruger LCP is very popular for backup and concealed carry, but it has very minimalist sights. A laser sight like the LaserLyte PL-1 may increase your ability to hit the target, especially under low-light and stressful conditions. Read More→
Rear Sight Laser for Glock Pistols Introduced by LaserLyte
Posted by: | Comments
LaserLyte has introduced a new red laser sighting system for pistols called the Rear Sight Laser. The LaserLyte Rear Sight Laser, or RSL, mounts in the position of the rear sight on a handgun, rather than as a grip or guiderod solution marketed by other companies such as Crimson Trace and LaserMax.
LaserLyte claims that by having the laser mounted to the rear sight, the holster can be used in all of the gun’s normal Level I and Level II holsters. While I do not have the laser on hand to test this claim with my own holsters, I can see how it should work with most holsters. However, there are no standards on what a Level I or II holster is, so the claim is a bit nebulous. Read More→

RKBA Holsters Now Shipping Pocket Holsters for Ruger LCP with Crimson Trace Laserguard
Posted by: | CommentsRKBA Holsters make great leather pocket holsters at very reasonable prices. I carry my Smith and Wesson 642 in a RKBA pocket holster every day.
Now, RKBA Holsters is offering a pocket holster for the Ruger LCP with the Crimson Trace Laserguard. The pocket holster offers the same great quality as the original LCP holster with the same low price: $32 shipped!
I am a big fan of these holsters ever since I ordered my first one. Read my original review on the RKBA pocket holster here. Stephen McElroy runs the company and makes the holsters by hand. He is a good guy and responds quickly to requests.
Crimson Trace Laserguard Family Expands
Posted by: | CommentsExpanding on the success of the LG-432 laser made for the Ruger LCP, Crimson Trace has added additional models to its Laserguard line of laser sighting systems.
Different from the traditional Lasergrips produced by Crimson Trace, the Laserguard laser optics attach to the front of the pitsol’s trigger guard instead of the grip. The obvious advantage to this method is the maintain the thin profile of the gun.
Like the original Lasergrips, the Laserguards are user adjustable. Crimson Trace is offering Laserguards for the following pistols:
- Glock 19, 23,25,26,27,28,32,33,36, and 38
- Kahr P9, PM9, P40, PM40, CW9, and CW40
- Kel Tec PF9, P3AT, and P32
- Ruger LCP
From Crimson Trace:
Crimson Trace announces several new Laserguard models for many of the smaller and concealable polymer pistols available on the market today. The Laserguard family now includes models for the Kel-Tec P3AT and P32 (Model LG-430), the Kel-Tec PF-9 (Model LG-435), the Glock 19/26/36 that now offers a master on/off switch (Model LG-436), the Kahr PM9/40,P9/40,CW9/40 (Model LG-437) and the Ruger LCP, (Model LG-431). This Laserguard line-up validates the design as the natural progression for Lasergrips for some of the popular polymer pistols.
These Laserguard models add very little mass to the already sleek design of the compact pistols, allowing the pistol to fit most holsters. We have designed the Laserguard to fit below the barrel and be an unobtrusive addition to the firearm. The Laserguard platform was designed to overcome the design challenges posed by polymer framed handguns.
The various Laserguard models can use either two #357 silver oxide batteries or a single 1/3N 3 volt lithium battery. These small batteries allow the Laserguard to be unobtrusive yet powerful enough to provide the brightness that Crimson Trace customers expect. Another feature of the Laserguards are that they use the smaller 3.3mm diameter laser diode which reduces the overall size of the laser diode housing. All Laserguard products come with an accessory pack that contains batteries, hex wrenches for laser adjustments, a cleaning cloth and several cleaning swabs. A three-year warranty is standard.
