I have also been looking for a good leather holster for the Ruger LC9 with LaserMax. I have not found any leather that I liked. Also looking for inside waistband

Your remark "Perhaps in years to come we’ll see an AR-15 lower receiver that can accept 5.56mm magazines or 7.62x39mm magazines. Then a fairly simple upper receiver and barrel change out could make a more friendly and modular rifle."

Take a look at the MGI Hydra. A modular lower with interchangable mag wells and an upper that has a quick release barrel change. I own the Hydra 7.62x39 with an interchangable 5.56 mag well and it is a great design. They are the original AR platform to take AK mags.

I am a huge Rock River fan. I own 2 Rock River SBRs. In my opinion, they are the best AR platform manufacturers on the market.

Wow. Outstanding review! Best I have read online so far. Thank you! I just purchased the DB9 after a horrible experience with the Taurus .380 which jammed every time I shot it. I am also considering a CZ Rami (double-stack 9mm) and/or a Glock 26 (double-stack 9mm) and/or a Glock 36 (single-stack .45). Hard to believe neither Glock nor CZ makes a single-stack 9mm such as the DB9. The only single-stack made by Glock is the 36 (single-stack .45). I don't think CZ makes a single stack at all. Yes, I know I could purchase a Walther or a Kahr, but I would like to stick with Glock or CZ.

The main attraction of the DB9 for me was the 0.8" width. That gives the gun a very close fit to the body with great concealment. I haven't fired it yet as I do not have the smaller 9mm ammo (<125 grain). I would not over-shoot this gun as I agree that it is an emergency piece only. Yes, one could purchase a bigger better gun for fun and sport, but that would defeat the purpose of concealed carry. 02.06.2012

The last straw with the Taurus 905 was this weekend on a Combat shoot the 2nd time I used the 905 as a back-up weapon, on the 1st thru the 5th run the weapon failed, the hammer and trigger would not pull to the rear after the 2nd or 3rd round being fired! The flimsy moon clips are to blame!!
After the 1st failure I made sure that the hammer lock was full open, no problem there, swited out the ammo 3 times, same problem, between the cylinder and weapon frame there is no room for error!!! If the crappy moon clips a bent ever so slightly the weapon will fail!!

And when your life depends on the weapons you carry the 905 will make you dead!!! I cleaned the weapon and placed it back in the box for the trip back to the dealer for a different back-up or ammo!!! As a back-up weapon the Taurus 905 will get you killed when you need it the most!!!

No kidding.

Names like "Concealed Carry", "Pocketlite", "Personal Defense" or even "Safety Slugs" make sense.

"Street-Sweeper", "Striker", "Judge" fake-macho type names are asking for trouble and play right into the cause of pants-wetters like Brady Campaign and fellow-travellers.

Some of these manufacturers need to reassess their marketing before they put themselves out of business in an effort to sell an extra hundred guns a year to those with poor self-image.

Perception is reality in court.

Finally, a company that is meeting AK lovers like myself halfway. I've always loved shooting the 7.62x39 round and believe that it is superior to the 5.56 NATO round. I also own a Rock River AR-10 that I hunt with but this takes the cake for me. Rock River gets all my AR business now.

Richard and John, thanks for your thoughts. Being an old car guy, I can appreciate the qualities of style and feel; hard things to quantify but certainly relevant to the driver. I purchased the P250 despite reading some negative comments on line, particularly on "build quality". To my eye, the fit and finish is fine for the price, and as said earlier, the initial performance is without complaint. Realizing this is a fairly new design and significant departure from Sig's P220/226/229 designs I'm wondering if there are any reliability or durability issues to be alert to. I suppose time will tell.

Richard beat me too it.

My only real issue with the P250, is that it's not in line with build quality of the avg. metal frame Sig. Nothing wrong per say with being like a Glock (I own two) and so do 60-70% of LE depts in the US. Like Richard said, it's personal choice like trucks (I'd go with a Dodge ;) ). Point is, I see why Sig made the P250.

Hi Mike,

You are correct - the P224 is an aluminum frame.

One of the reasons there are so many different handguns on the market is because there are millions of different people, each with their own likes, hand sizes and budgets. Some folks like the P250 guns, and some do not. It sounds like the P250 is working perfect for you, so buy more ammo and have fun!

So people may prefer the P224 because of it's styling, the way it feels in the hand or "just because." The differences you pointed out previously are good points, but I guess it is a little like Ford v. Chevy: some people just like one over the other.

Keep training and have fun!
