Kahr CM45: Details from the 2013 SHOT Show

by: Aaron Leave a Comment

Kahr CM45 review

Another new gun shown at the 2013 SHOT Show is the Kahr CM45 (Model #4543).  The CM series of handguns is the economy version of the PM series that Kahr produces.  Adding the venerable .45 ACP caliber to the CM series of handguns should bode well for Kahr, as the CM series has been a popular line for the company.  Although, not the top of the line offering like the PM series, the CM series still offers many desired features, while allowing a market price far below the PM series.

MultiCam Rally Fighter at the SHOT Show

Rally Fighter

The MultiCam Rally Fighter is but one of the cool vehicles frequently seen at the SHOT Show.  This purpose-built machine was prominently displayed on the ground floor of the convention center, and drew quite a bit of interest from people wandering by.

Comp-Tac Trojan Horse

by: Richard Johnson Leave a Comment

While at Media Day, I got a chance to see the Comp-Tac Trojan Horse, which is a discreet way to carry a rifle or carbine.  The case looks more like an over-sized tennis racquet case than it does a rifle bag.  This allows someone to legally carry a gun into places in a manner that will not draw attention.

Trojan Horse

Gordon Carrell, the general manager for Comp-Tac, gave me a demonstration of the Trojan Horse, and convinced me that this case is a well designed product that will please most shooters who are in the market for such a tool.  The  case is not flimsy, and appears it will stand up to many years of service, even from neanderthals like me.

Kahr CW380

Kahr CW380

Kahr announced the new CW380 at the SHOT Show.  The new pistol is chamered in .380 ACP and continues the budget line of pistols the company has been putting out for several years.  Other calibers in this line include the CW9 and CW40 in 9mm and .40 S&W respectively.

The CW380 has a 2.58″ barrel and is less than 5″ in total length.  Height is less than 4″.  Throw in an unloaded weight (no magazine) of 10.2 ounces and you can see how someone wanting a very lightweight, concealable firearm might like the new Kahr.

Glock 30S – A Reality

by: Richard Johnson 6 Comments

Glock 30S

It looks like Glock’s big announcement at the SHOT Show (other than “Hey, we have a social network site!”) is the 30S pistol.  I mentioned the rumors of this gun a few days ago, but I have now seen one.

Essentially, the Glock 30S is a model 30SF frame with a model 36 slide attached to it.  The key benefit being to shrink the width of the gun to make it more appealing for concealed carry.  I certainly applaud the effort, and I would presume this gun will be well received in the market.

Gun owners need to sign up immediately for a lifetime membership to the NRA. Why? Let me tell you. As of January 7, the anti-gun team of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have officially won the White House. The US Congress is also in anti-gun hands. The bottom line: more gun control legislation is coming […]

Wilson Combat WCP320 Carry Review

The Wilson Combat WCP320 Carry is one of the best 9mm pistols I’ve reviewed. From its announcement as the new standard sidearm for the United States military, the popularity of the SIG SAUER P320 pistol seemingly exploded. Original SIG pistols are in high demand and aftermarket accessories are plentiful. You can even build your own […]

Girsan MC1911 CT Review

In today’s review of the Girsan MC1911 CT, I take a look at a classically designed .45 ACP pistol with modern updates including a red dot sight. What might draw a lot of people in is the low price tag: only $661 at full retail. With the standard features, the gun seems like a great […]

Springfield Armory XD 9mm Subcompact Pistol Review

While single-stack 9mm pistols seem to be all the rage in modern concealed carry, subcompact pistols that hold a bit more ammunition shouldn’t be dismissed by anyone interested in personal protection.
