DeWalt DPGA-3AAA LED Flashlight Review
By · Comments
The DeWalt DPGA-3AAA LED flashlight is one of a series of DeWalt flashlights I have reviewed this year. Fitting neatly between the sizes of the DPGA-3D full size flashlight and the pocket-sized DPGA-1AAT, the 3AAA has a number of features to make it a good choice for navigation lighting, work lighting, or even as a tactical light in a pinch. I found the light to be very solid, and it worked without any problems throughout the past six months I have been using it.
General Features
Like the other DeWalt flashlights, the 3AAA uses a CREE XLamp LED. The 3AAA is rated at 80 lumens (total light output). Like other LED flashlights, the 3AAA’s light is a much whiter light than regular incandescent bulbs, which tend to be yellow. The center beam is well focused, providing a good spot across a room. The flashlight also throws a good amount of less intense light around the center focus.
Federal Air Marshal Service Pick Sig Sauer P250
By · CommentsThe U.S. Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) recently chose the Sig Sauer P250 as the new duty gun for their agents. Chambered in the highly potent .357 Sig cartridge, the FAMS upgraded to the P250 from the Sig Sauer P229. Specifics of the contract have not yet been released by FAMS, but the award was confirmed by Sig Sauer staff.
Hornady Lock-N-Load Sonic Cleaner
By · Comments
Hornady is bringing to market a new solution to case cleaning: the Sonic Cleaner. Part of the Lock-N-Load series of reloading equipment, Hornady is claiming to bring “case cleaning to the next level.”
At about $135, the Sonic Cleaner is more expensive than a standard tumbler. However, it is potentially superior to standard tumbling.
More “Gen 4″ Glock Information?
By · CommentsDuring the past months I have been bringing you information about the new “Gen 4 Glock” pistols that are due at the 2010 SHOT Show. One of the features that I believe the fourth generation Glock pistols will have is a reversible magazine release.
In the latest Safariland holster fitting charts (dated September 24, 2009), the company lists Glock 17, 19, 22, and 23 pistols with a “dual magazine release” under a separate entry from the Glock 17, etc. Are these the new Glock pistols?

National Ammo Day
By · CommentsFor what it is worth, November 19 is National Ammo Day. On that day organizers want every gun owner to purchase 100 rounds of ammunition as a show of support for ammo manufacturers.
From the National Ammo Day website:
The 6.5 Creedmoor was designed as a competitive cartridge for precision rifle shooting. With the introduction of two new Hornady loads, the 6.5 Creedmoor is now a serious hunting cartridge.
Hornady is now offering 6.5 Creedmoor loads with the 120 grain GMX bullet and with the 129 grain SST bullet. Hornady states the 6.5 Creedmoor loads are “perfect for any North American game up to and including elk.”
Delivery of the new rounds is expected around March of 2010.
The 6.5 Creedmoor loads are part of Hornady’s new Superformance line of ammunition. The Superformance ammo promises to improve velocities by 100-200 fps without an increase in recoil, muzzle blast, or other typical side-effect.
