The much-anticipated Glock 19 Gen 4 pistols are now shipping.
The Gen4 Glock pistols were officially introduced at the 2010 SHOT Show in the full-size models 17 and 22. The Glock 19 is extremely popular for concealed carry, and many people have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Gen4 version.
A GunsHolstersAndGear reader sent me an e-mail with photos of his new Gen4 Glock 19 that he picked up last week. Additionally, he pointed out that Top Gun Supply has the Gen4 Glock 19′s in stock, and ready to ship.
Reader photos of the Gen4 Glock 19 are below.
The Glock 19 Gen 4 is possibly the world’s perfect combat pistol. It is ultra-reliable and of a perfect size to be both concealed or carries as a duty pistol.
I’ve owned a second generation Glock 19 for many years now, I will be picking up a fourth generation pistol soon. The ability to slim down the backstrap without sending the gun off to a gunsmith is a nice feature.
With the new Gen 4 guns, the sights and finish stay the same. The texture on the grip is much more aggressive than the third generation guns, but not as sharp as the RTF2 texture introduced last year. Frankly, I didn’t like the RTF2, but I do like this finish.
The folks in Smyrna really have a winner on their hands with this one. The Glock 19 is probable one of the most popular defensive handguns in the United States. It is impossible to wander into an online forum and not be told “Gen 4 Glock 19″ when you ask what everyone is carrying.
I am fairly certain if you were to walk around and ask people what kind of gun they were carrying, you would find the model 19 to be a very popular choice. Of course, I don’t suggesting walking around and asking people about the gun they are carrying. Non gun people might freak out, and gun folks will likely prone you out.
So there you have it: the Glock 19 Gen 4 pistol. Leave comments below and let us know what you think. We are all very excited to see the new pistol on the market. It is supposed to work with all prior generations of Glock 19, so I am eager to get one into my Milt Sparks Summer Special and hit the road.
