LaserLyte Side Mount Laser for Ruger LC9

LaserLyte Ruger LC9 LaserLaserLyte recently announced a new side mount laser for the Ruger LC9 handgun.  The laser unit is designed for easy installation and to fit in the majority of existing holsters.

The LaserLyte side mount laser is a red laser (650 nm) operating at 5 mW, which is typical for handgun lasers.  Green lasers, which tend to be more visible in daylight conditions, are frequently much more expensive than red lasers.

The LaserLyte operates on four 377 “button” batteries.  The batteries are supposed to operate for up to five hours if left on constantly.  According to the company, batteries are included.

Unlike the LaserMax laser unit for the Ruger pistols, the LaserLyte has both a constant and pulse mode.  I don’t claim to be an expert on the use of lasers in a defensive handgun, and I’m not sure what the pulse might do for you, but this unit has it if you want it.

One of the things the pulse mode seems to do is extend battery life.  In pulse mode, LaserLyte states the unit should run for 10 continuous hours.

This side mount laser will also mount to the Kel-Tec PF9.

While at the 2011 National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers, the good folks at Laura Burgess Marketing were able to catch up with the sales manager for LaserLyte.  They had Jeremy demonstrate the new laser for the LC9:

MSRP is $109.95 and the company expects to ship the lasers in December 2011.  Unfortunately, I do not see LaserLyte as one of the companies at the annual Media Day at the Range, but I am sure we will see this new item at the 2012 SHOT Show.

your an idiot.. You are wrong. I don’t live in any of those 2 states and by federal law which is over all state laws. Being me, the guy on youtube that carrys a glock 18c as a work gun I think I would know what altering a firearms s/n is… Thank you, try again..

Obviously you are not familiar with state or federal gun laws. Gun laws vary by state and can enforce any laws they want. The federal law you must not have been trained on is the law that says states can make and enforce their own gun laws Taking that one step further, towns can make their own laws in addition to any state or federal laws. Even further, towns can deny you the right to own a handgun at all. But you being the guy on “you tube” you must know it all mr glock 18c guy. I guess the government does not know what they are talking about but you know it all. I will not waste any more of my time debating the obvious fact that you are unfamiliar with state and federal gun laws. To all people reading these posts, I am sorry you may have wasted some of your time looking his posts. Any one with common sense will see those posts are just rants and make no sense. But beware that he is “the guy on you tube that carry’s a glock 18c as a work gun” so he would know.

You are a tool.. I hope any one reading these post can see that you are a tool. Your a waste of 10 fingers. It is not illegal to put this laser on your firearm. Do not, I repeat DO NOT take this guys advice. Buy my laser!

Oh now we know who you are! Your a laserlyte employee… Truth hurts right. Here is the email I got from your company in response to my e-mail and I quote “We are aware that the serial number is covered when you install the CK-AMF9 however LaserLyte is constantly striving to meet the needs of our customers and improve our product line including the visibility of the serial number on the firearm”. Ouch that hurts you now doesn’t it. I make no false statements and back up all my information before posting. I never said you can’t put your laser on a gun. I said it is illegal and unwise in some states to cover the serial number on a handgun. Call every state police dpt. in the USA and see if covering the serial number on a handgun is allowed. I even like the performance of your laser, but it’s overshadowed by your poor buisiness practice and service. Now that Ruger offers the Lasermax laser as a factory option on the LC9 and can be added to any LC9 ever made, I highly recommend using what the factory endorses. Buy the Lasermax laser that doesn’t cover your serial number!
