I’ve lived long enough to see the industry resist and then embrace the change to polymer-framed guns…and now see the trend reverse.

At the 2025 SHOT Show, I observed the Smith & Wesson Spec Series V displayed prominently at the company's booth. The pistol's sleek polymer frame and 4-inch barrel were showcased under the exhibition lights, highlighting its modern design. The white dot front and rear sights were clearly visible, emphasizing the firearm's focus on quick target acquisition. Tanfoglio Hexagon Tactical

Tanfoglio’s Hexagon Tactical Pistol, imported by the Italian Firearms Group, is a premium tactical firearm priced at $1,485.00. Designed for law enforcement, tactical applications, and competitive shooting, the pistol features a HeXagon integral compensator and a CNC-machined polygonal ported bull barrel for reduced muzzle flip, enhanced control, and precision shooting. Chambered in 9mm or 10mm AUTO, it offers capacities of 18 and 15 rounds, respectively.

Springfield Armory Launches New Colors of Echelon Compact Pistols

Springfield Armory has expanded its Echelon pistol lineup with new Desert FDE and OD Green finishes for the 4.0C models. These striker-fired handguns are chambered in 9mm and feature a modular chassis design, making them easy to customize and adaptable to individual shooter preferences.

On the SHOT Show floor, I photographed the OD Green variant of the Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0C pistol. This model features a deep olive drab green frame paired with a black Melonite-coated slide. Its modular chassis system and optics-ready design were prominently displayed, highlighting the pistol’s adaptability for various shooters. The ergonomic grip texture and integrated accessory rail were also visible, underscoring its functionality. The booth lighting brought out the rugged elegance of this 9mm pistol, which offers a 15-round capacity. Ruger RXM

The Ruger RXM is a 9mm Luger pistol developed in partnership with Magpul, featuring a Stealth Gray Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip and a 15+1 capacity. It boasts a 4-inch alloy steel barrel with a black FNC nitride finish and an optic-ready slide compatible with RMR, Delta Point Pro, and RMSc pattern optics. CZ has introduced the P-09 C Nocturne, a modernized version of the P-09 that blends tactical functionality with a sleek design. Chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum pistol cartridge, this full-size pistol features a threaded cold hammer-forged barrel and suppressor-height night sights, making it suppressor-ready out of the box. Smith & Wesson – Lipsey’s Exclusive Revolvers

Smith & Wesson has launched a new lineup of Lipsey’s Exclusive revolvers, catering to a variety of shooting needs. The lightweight Model 632-UC Ti is a J-Frame revolver chambered in .32 H&R Mag, featuring a titanium cylinder and aluminum alloy frame for comfortable carry. Its 1.88-inch barrel is paired with tritium and black u-notch sights, making it ideal for defensive use. The revolver is available in black or silver finishes with textured synthetic grips.

At the 2025 SHOT Show, I observed the Lipsey’s Exclusive Smith & Wesson Model 632-UC Ti in both black and silver finishes displayed at the Smith & Wesson booth. The titanium cylinder and aluminum alloy frame highlighted the revolver’s lightweight construction, and the 1.88-inch barrel design was paired with a bright dot tritium front sight and a black u-notch rear sight for defensive precision. Franklin Armory F22 Pistol

Franklin Armory has unveiled the F22 pistol, a limited-production firearm chambered in .22 long rifle and equipped with the Binary Firing System. Built with a machined 7075 aluminum receiver and an enhanced firing pin system, the F22 offers improved ignition and reliability. During Industry Day at the Range, I captured the Franklin Armory F22 pistol in action at SHOT Show bay SR-38. I have my doubts, but I do like the potential of this to be a real poke in the eye to gun-restrictive states.
