A bit of an enigma for the past several SHOT Shows, the Taurus CTG29 carbine is now shipping according to the company’s website. The carbine is based on the the SMT 9 and SMT 40 submachine guns the company produces in Brazil.
A few years ago, finding inexpensive, electronic ear muffs for hearing protection was impossible.  Electronic ear pro seemed to start at $200 and go up from there.  Fortunately, things have changed and they can be found from several manufacturers for less than $50.  In this Howard Leight Impact Sport review, I describe one such example.
Electronic hearing protection allow for the amplification of ambient sound. Â When a loud sound is encountered, the amplification shuts down and the muffs reduce the sound like traditional, non-amplified muffs would.
In the most recent earnings call, Smith & Wesson indicated the new M&P10 rifles are selling very well. Â As is typical for the company, S&W did not release any numbers for units sold or for how many are on backorder. Â However, it seemed plain that the rifles are doing very well in the company’s line-up.
After posting an announcement that they would no longer manufacture lowers with their name on them, Detroit Gun Works is apparently selling matched uppers and lowers with the DGW logo through Kroll International.  This is an unexpected event due to the company’s stated position from just a few months ago.
In early December 2012, Kroll International released a pre-SHOT Show ad that suggested they had teamed up with Detroit Gun Works and Blackhawk possibly for new AR-15 rifles made by DGW and fitted with Blackhawk gear. Â But, by the end of the same month, DGW pulled back from the announcement and posted on their website that they would not be producing lowers with the company name on them any more. Â The previously announced .308 and .300 Blackout uppers and rifles were also shelved.
ISSC M22 pistols are now available in Moon Shine camo including Harvest Moon, Muddy Girl and Outshine patterns. All of the Moon Shine pistols have a 4″ barrel and a MSRP of $469. Â Magazines hold ten rounds.
If you are not already familiar with the M22 pistols, they are .22 LR handguns that have an appearance very similar to the Glock line of handguns. Â The M22 is available in various barrel lengths and run from $428 – $554 depending on the model purchased. Â In addition to the Moon Shine camo patterns, the M22 is available with black, pink green and sand colored frames.
