YHM-15 9mm

YHM-15 Pistols

Yankee Hill Machine introduced the new YHM-15 pistols at the 2015 SHOT Show. These are new AR-style handguns and will be available in both 9mm and 5.56 NATO.

These guns use a new YHM lightweight handguard, threaded barrels and more. Here’s what we’ve learned…

9mm YHM-15 Pistol

The new 9mm handgun is a blowback design that uses Colt-type 32-round magazines. It has a YHM 5.5″ threaded barrel and is capped with a Phantom flash hider. (Side note: the Phantom did fairly well in the comparison at Vuurwapen Blog.)

A new KR7 series handguard is used on this pistol. Made of 6061-T6 aluminum, it is 4.15″ long and weighs 7.2 ounces. KeyMod attachment points are located at every 45° with a Picatinny rail on top at the 12 o’clock position.

YHM-15 9mm handgun

Both the lower and upper are made of forged 7075-T6 aluminum and are finished in a matte black. Yankee Hill Machine installs their own E-Z Pull take down pins on this gun.

Total weight of this pistol is 5.04 pounds. It will have a MSRP of $1,557. The part number is YHM-8020 should you be interested in ordering one from them.

5.56 YHM-15 Pistol

YHM-15 556

Chambered in 5.56 NATO, this new pistol uses the familiar impingement system typically found on AR-type rifles. Like the 9mm pistol above, this gun has a Phantom flash suppressor threaded to the 10.5″ barrel.

Also like the 9mm version, this gun uses a KR7 handguard. The handguard has KeyMod mounting points at 45° angles, with an extended Picatinny rail on top. This is the mid-length version that is 9.3″ long and weighs 11.8 ounces.

YHM-15 5.56 Pistol

Total weight on this handgun is 5.4 pounds. It ships with a single 30-round, GI-style magazine. Like the other gun, both the upper and lower are forged 7075-T6 aluminum.

The MSRP on this pistol is $1,205.

YHM did not announce a shipping date, and the guns are not listed on the company website yet. I’ll try to get a projected shipping date from the company at the SHOT Show next week.
