$19k Double Barrel Pistol Set

If you are looking for the quickest way to burn money in today’s handgun market, you may want to take a look at the special Arsenal Firearms AF-2011 kit being offered by the International Firearms Corporation.

The base AF-2011 pistol is a double barrel 1911-style pistol chambered in either .45 ACP or .38 Super. These oversized pistols appear to be two of John Browning’s pistols that melted into a single, oversized block.

Possibly the best feature about the original 1911 pistol is the way it fits the hand. Forget about that same feel in the AF-2011. These pistols are 1.97″ thick, making them unwieldy for all but the largest of hands. They are not lightweight either. Unloaded, this gun weighs more than four pounds. For about the same weight you could have three Glock 19 pistols.

HPR Black Ops Ammunition

[Ed. Note: Since I originally wrote this article about HPR Black Ops ammo, the company dissolved. It is no longer available. However, as there is likely some of this ammo still available out there, I am leaving the article up for informational purposes. If you come across any Black Ops 45 or discover the specs of the .223 loads, drop a comment below.]

Using lighter-than-typical bullets, the new HPR Black Ops ammunition promises to deliver superior accuracy and “unparalleled takedown force.” Initially, the Black Ops ammo will be offered in 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. Another load in .223 Rem is said to be available soon.

Upgrades to the IZ132 Saiga Rifles

I just received an announcement from Concern Kalashnikov about a number of upgrades to the IZ132 rifle being sold in the United States.

The standard IZ132 rifle is based on the AK-47 pattern rifle and is chambered for the 7.62×39 cartridge. It is a semi-automatic rifle fed by detachable magazines. The new upgrade will use an improved polymer stock that has an integrated pistol grip. The polymer handguard is also updated. Standard AK-pattern 30-round magazines will work in the gun.

The New ATI AR-15 Pistol

American Tactical Imports (ATI) is now selling an AR-15 pistol based on the company’s Omni-Hybrid lower. The gun is chambered in 5.56 NATO and weighs a mere 4.75 pounds.

ATI introduced the Omni polymer lowers in mid-2012 (read my review of them here) and later updated the receivers with a metal insert for high stress points. Since the update, I have heard very good things about them. Phil O’Dell of O’Dell Engineering in Ontario, Canada has provided a lot of feedback on the lowers and rifles here at GHG. It is worth reading through his comments.

New Cartridge: 45 RAPTOR

Imagine a .460 S&W Magnum in a semi-automatic rifle. Now take a look at the very real 45 RAPTOR.

The new cartridge is essentially a rimless .460 S&W Magnum load. It offers a serious thump for hunting hogs and other game while fitting a standard AR-10 rifle. The rimless design matches the specifications of the .308 Win, which means a new barrel and slight magazine modification is all that is needed to run the cartridge.
